Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Biblio Catalogue, a trading name of Christchurch Web Solutions Ltd(“we”, “us”), collects and uses personal data when you use our website and application (the “Service”). We are the data controller for the personal data described here. If you have any questions, contact us at hello@bibliocatalogue.com.

Who we are

The data controller is Christchurch Web Solutions Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales, at:

Christchurch Web Solutions Ltd
Unit 6, 6 Silver Business Park
Airfield Way
Christchurch
BH23 3TA
United Kingdom

Who this applies to

This policy covers visitors to our website and account holders (book dealers) who use the Service, anywhere in the world. Where local law — including the UK GDPR, the EU GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), or other national or state data-protection laws — grants you additional rights, we honour them. For international transfers, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK/EU Standard Contractual Clauses where required.

Data we collect

  • Account data — your name, email address and a securely hashed password.
  • Business data you enter — your stock, customers, orders, catalogues and settings. This is your content; you control it.
  • Technical data — basic server logs (such as IP address and timestamps) needed to operate and secure the Service.
  • Billing data — handled by our payment provider, Freemius (see below). We do not store your card details; we keep only a customer/subscription reference and your current plan.

Cookies

We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking. Because this cookie is strictly necessary to provide the Service, it is set when you sign in; our cookie notice lets you acknowledge this.

How we use your data

  • To provide and secure the Service and your account.
  • To respond to your enquiries and provide support.
  • To meet legal and accounting obligations.

Our lawful bases are performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in running and securing the Service, and compliance with legal obligations.

The data your customers’ details represent

If you store your own customers’ contact details in the Service, you are the controller of that data and we process it on your behalf as a processor, only to provide the Service to you.

Payments

Subscriptions are sold and processed by Freemius, Inc., who act as our Merchant of Record (the seller of record) and handle payment processing and applicable sales tax/VAT. When you subscribe, you provide your payment and billing details directly to Freemius, who are an independent data controller for that information; their use of it is governed by the Freemius Privacy Policy. Freemius notifies us of your subscription status so we can enable your plan; we receive a customer/subscription reference and your plan, not your card details.

Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share it only with: our payment provider Freemius (for billing, as above); infrastructure providers who host the Service on our behalf (including Supabase and Cloudflare); and where required by law. All under appropriate safeguards.

Retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can export or delete your data at any time; after account closure we delete or anonymise personal data except where we must retain it for legal reasons.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to data portability. To exercise these rights, email hello@bibliocatalogue.com.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified through the Service or by email.
